  • Salt (to taste) Enhances overall taste.
  • 3 dashes ground black pepper Adds a touch of warmth and depth.
  • Lemon juice (optional) A squirt of bright acidity for a refreshing finish.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by cutting off the bottom part of the asparagus stems, about 1-2 inches (2.5cm-5cm), to remove the tough ends.
  • Place a skillet over medium heat and add the melted butter. Heat until bubbly and fragrant.

Cooking

  • Add the minced garlic to the pan and sauté until it turns slightly golden brown, about 30 seconds to a minute. Be cautious not to burn it.
  • Toss the asparagus into the skillet, using a spatula to combine it well with the garlic.
  • Sprinkle in salt and ground black pepper, adjusting according to taste.
  • If desired, add a squirt or two of lemon juice.
  • Sauté the asparagus until tender yet still crisp, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Once done, remove from heat and serve hot.

Notes

For best results, select young asparagus with firm, perky stems. Snap off the ends by hand. Experiment with red pepper flakes for a kick or Parmesan cheese for a cheesy finish.
